Health Care Assistant for DomCare
Permanent / Temporary/ Full time/ Zero Hours

Wage: £12.45 - £13.45 / hour depending on experience
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a Domiciliary care provider based in Hampshire, and they currently have an exciting immediate opportunity for the position of Health Care Assistants.
This service specialises in Adult Care; in consultation with local authorities our client focuses in providing care, support and assistance to people with complex care needs and mental health challenges aiming to help them live a better and independent life both at homes and in their local communities.
They are currently looking to recruit skilled, experienced, motivated, compassionate, caring and dedicated Health Care Asistants to join an already established team. They offer a competitive salary, career and training development and fantastic working conditions.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Work as part of a team in delivering an extremely high standard quality of care to our service users who are living independently in their own homes or in supported accommodation.
- Directly provide assistance with personal care in accordance with the service users’ Care Plane e.g., assistance with bathing, washing, dressing, continence care, meal preparation, feeding, etc.
- Assist service users with serving meals, taking their medication, feeding, getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, mobility, etc.
- Manage the making and changing of beds, tidy rooms, do light cleaning and empty commodes.
- Support service users using trained moving and handling procedures and equipment.
- Support service users in accessing the community and in taking part in social events as detailed in the Care Plan. e.g., attending appointments, shopping or attend events.
- Respond promptly to any emergencies e.g., medical emergencies.
- Promote the dignity and privacy of service users.
- Identify and report any concerns relating to service users’ health and wellbeing to the Registered Manager.
- Write accurate daily reports of all care provided and any relevant events and keep these up to date.
- Be a care assistant that is compassionate, caring, treating service users with dignity, respect, working with them as an individual, maintaining their choices, providing general care and more specialised care.
- Help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them,
- taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
- Follow the agreed ways of working, reading the care plan and documenting in detail the care provided, any changes which have occurred and other relevant information.
- Work as part of a team and be a team player to ensure service users’ needs are me.
- Endorse and do a proper handover to the next carer
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience working within a care setting is desired
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in a Domiciliary care setting is preferred; those without a healthcare experience but with a willingness to learn will also be considered
- Compassionate, caring and respectful.
- Ability to read and implement care plans.
- A team player.
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Presentable with good personality.

- Experienced in working within a framework of safeguarding.
- Excellent working knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Qualification
- A minimum of a caregiving certificate that covers the 15-care standards or a Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate (CNA) is essential
- Any other relevant Health Care Certificate will be an added advantage
- Must have full right to work in the UK.
- Valid DBS Certificate
- Must have Full UK Driving License with own car.
- IELTS UKVI test result with a minimum score of 4 in all categories/ or NARIC.
- A valid police clearance from the countries you’ve resided within the last 10 years.
